Welcome!
Kensington Karate Club is a member of the Kobe Osaka England Karate Association which is a non-political, non-profit making, friendly martial arts association offering instruction and in-depth training in the Shito-ryu/Shukokai style of karate. Its aim is to spread the practice and enjoyment of karate through international co-operation and friendship amongst people regardless of race or religion.
Shito-ryu karate is a traditional Japanese karate style which offers traditional and Olympic sport karate, and is a member of the World Karate Federation (WKF).
Kensington Karate Club is a new club in Kensington Leisure Centre, offering sessions for individuals from various age ranges and for varying levels of ability. The sessions run every Friday from 6pm-7pm in the sports hall.
Training elements of karate will include fitness exercise, kata, kumite and self defence.
Participants are invited to attend a free introductory training session to see if our karate program is suitable for you.

Karate into the Olympics
WKF President Antonio Espinós expressed the joy of millions of Karatekas around the world after the decision of the IOC Session to include Karate in the programme of Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. .
As millions of Karate fans around the world showed their excitement for the inclusion of Karate in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, the representatives of the sport in Rio de Janeiro took a moment to thank all those who have supported this ancient discipline in making the Olympic dream a reality.
